There is plenty to enjoy at LA hotel bars for visitors and locals, but during the summer months LA’s many rooftop hotel bars provide the perfect place to feel the heat with a cool cocktail or enjoy a happy hour sunset.
Here are a few of our favorites.
The downtown location of the Standard has a modern rooftop bar scene with a long pool and waterbed pods for visitors to get comfortable. They have DJ’s nightly and a Biergarten with pretzels, susage and strudels.
SBE’s boutique hotel the Redbury in Hollywood has an outdoor seating area where visitors can migrate with their drinks after grabbing them at the indoor Library bar. There are coaches for lounging and Edison lights strung up for for a cozy environment.
Sixty Beverly Hills
The old Thompson in Beverly Hills has turned over to the Sixty Beverly Hills, a luxury hotel with a two level bar and pool scene on the roof that provides views of the city from all angles. One new addition is a bar that is decorated with Swarovski crystals. Like some of it’s clientele, presumably. Thee is a full menu with snack foods, beer, wine and cocktails.
Skybar at the Mondrian
The Skybar at the Mondrian is just what it sounds like, a bar in the sky with a hip and gorgeous layout overlooking the LA skyline. The bar itself is raised from the pool area for an intimate and sort of tree house feel. You can get bottle service or drink from the bar with options like the Be Well vodka drink with apple, orange, lime, ginger, and a dusting of cayenne pepper.
High at Hotel Erwin
High at Hotel Erwin in Venice has ocean views and overlooks the Venice boardwalk. The only rooftop bar and lounge in Venice, High offers bottle service and a full bar with specialty cocktails. This spot is also flexible for big groups or planning parties.
The Andaz in West Hollywood has the highest rooftop pool in the city and a bar to grab cocktails while you lounge. It offers views of the Sunset strip into the Hollywood Hills, downtown and to the beach.
This West Hollywood hotel has a rooftop bar and pool area with cabanas and a garden-like atmosphere. The bar is 10 stories up for good panoramic views.
Suite 700 at Shangri-La
This rooftop bar at the Shangri-La in Santa Monica has an art-deco vibe with awesome views of Santa Monica. A fire pit for keeps customers warm as the sun goes down. There are actually two different areas on the roof to hangout, a glass enclosed area and the walkway that goes around it. During happy hour, all wines are half off.
