Downtown Venice, located in Venice Beach, CA, formed by the crossings of Abbot Kinney, Grand Boulevard and Main Street. These streets together form the traditional downtown of Venice. During the 1920's and 1930's, downtown Venice had a very active nightlife and thousands of Californians would arrive every night to dine, drink, party and celebrate life.

Nightlife has always been popular here in Venice but it wasn't until the 1960's when the hippie culture boomed that the city really took on a life of its own in being unique. Downtown Venice became a center of hippie culture. Jim Morrison, of the rock group The Doors, even frolicked in Venice living and breathing the hippie culture with the rest of the locals.

In the late 1990's, Venice saw another huge surge of energy as many popular trendy nightclubs, art galleries, bars and edgy apparel shops starting popping up and fueled not only the local scene but also the tourists coming to visit this beautiful city. Downtown Venice is a unique city that should not be missed by any Los Angeles traveler, ether local or from abroad. Come experience downtown Venice!
