Zuma Beach, located in Malibu, CA, is one of the most famous and popular beaches in Southern California. The drive down the Pacific Coast Highway by itself is a gorgeous way to take in the Southern California scenery. Zuma's white sands stretch for almost 3 miles long and have been used in such famous movies as "Planet of the Apes." Remember the scene where Charlton Heston finds the Statue of Liberty at the end of the film? That's Zuma Beach!

This beautiful stretch of ocean front in Los Angeles has also been used since the 1940's to host the international lifeguard competitions and to this day still sponsors major volleyball tournaments. If in the mood for a little exercise, one can always hike up the cliff at Point Dume for a beautiful and breathtaking view of the ocean. Volleyball courts are also on site at the beach.

Since fires are prohibited at the beach, plan meals or picnics accordingly. There is also a beautiful boating area in Paradise Cove for kayaking. Since there are no on-site rental offices, visitors are expected to bring their own equipment. Overnight camping is also strictly prohibited at Zuma. Parking is available in a pay lot near the beach for $5. There is also street parking but it is first come, first serve. Come explore the natural beauty that is Zuma Beach.
