The oldest and one of the most played municipal golf courses in Los Angeles, Griffith park offers two 18-hole tracks: The Harding Course (par-72, 6,536 yards), and the Wilson Course (par-72, 6,942 yards). Situated in the massive Griffith Park urban wildlife area in the foothills of Los Angeles, this Los Angeles golf course has held up amazingly well over years of heavy play. Green fees are cheap: $10-$25.

Rancho Park Golf Course

One of the most played courses in the country, Rancho Park plays host to nearly 600,000 rounds a year. The course, designed by William P. Bell and William Johnson, opened in 1949, and was the former host of the Los Angeles Open. The course is a bargain, if you can get on, at $17-$25.

The Bel-Air Country Club

Just one of the elite private clubs in the Beverly Hills and Los Angeles area, the Bel-Air Country Club has recently received facelifts from architects such as Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and Robert Fazio. This Los Angeles golf course is terribly exclusive, but the course itself is one of the finest in the nation, and many of Hollywood's elite are members.

Los Angeles Royal Vista Golf Course

About 20 minutes from downtown Los Angeles, this public Los Angeles golf course features 27 holes of championship golf. The East/South course combination measures 6,537 yards, the North/South measures 6,243 yards and the South/East combo comes in at 6,182 yards. The course resides in the Walnut Valley, and features local flora and fauna. Green fees are in the $20-$40 range.

A nice, simple municipal course just ten miles from downtown Los Angeles, the course was designed by Casey OíCallaghan and opened in 1966. It measures 6,804 yards from the tips, and green fees are a modest $20-$25.
