Hermosa Beach is one of those communities that just reminds you, from that first drive down one of it's winding, narrow hills, just what made you fall in love with this part of the country in the first place. To many, this little hamlet is the very definition of Californian cool. Hillside vistas overlook the bright hot sand of one the South Bay's most breathtaking shores. While finding parking can usually be a bit of a chore, especially on the weekends, the walk from that out of the way parking spot to your favorite Mediterranean lunch spot or barely off the beach sports bar can be well worth the effort. A friendly atmosphere is pervasive and a good time can always be found no matter your tastes and personal style. Distinct shops line each hill, offering up everything from antique toys to books on Hinduism, candles, incense, and vintage clothing.
Beautiful houses line many of the main roads, their size and design a real estate agent's dream. Bike riding through those streets can be both an intense workout and a sightseer's tour de force.
After long days at the beach, the sounds of summer are often reflected in the tunes of the visiting musicians newly arrived for the town's summer concert series by the pier. Good times and a party environment add perfectly to any dining experience enjoyed as the bands play on.
