| About Rebecca Roy, M.A., M.F.T. Child, Adolescent & Adult Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a journey which can lead you to a more accurate understanding of your past and a more joyful present. Therapy can clarify for you what you want for your future. It is one of the most important journeys you will ever take. You will learn to trust your intuitive process, feel clearer about the direction your life is taking and enjoy a more healthy and productive life. In short, you will find your inner strength.
A central theme of psychotherapy is to relieve emotional and psychic pain and eliminate negative thinking. Another element of psychotherapy is to learn how to create and maintain healthy relationships.
As your guide, I will help you learn to feel more comfortable with the world, yourself and others. Learning to develop a different relationship with ourselves – one that is less self-critical, perfectionistic and demanding – allows for a more compassionate, kind, respectful one to emerge in its place. To know what makes you happy with yourself and with others allows for a better quality of life. Through this process the true self emerges.
Rebecca Roy, M.A., MFT, is a regular contributes to Forbes, CNN, NY Times, Glamour and Los Angeles Times on psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic issues. She is nationally known for her work with entertainment industry professinals.
