The Long Beach Blues Festival
The Long Beach Blues Festival will take place this year on Labor Day Weekend (September 5-6, 2009) at Rainbow Lagoon Park (East Shoreline Drive, Long Beach, CA). Hosted every year by jazz and blues radio station, KKJZ 88.1 FM, the Long Beach Blues Festival has been going strong for three decades. The festival’s aim is to bring together the crème de la crème of jazz, blues, funk and soul, all for the listening pleasure of California jazz n’ blues enthusiasts. Not only is the Long Beach Blues Festival a terrific source of entertainment, but it also serves as a major fundraiser for KKJZ, a publicly sponsored, non-commercial radio station. This year’s festival features two stages full of funk, jazz, blues n’ soul and will also be serving a large amount of finger lickin’ good food and drink.
